A raid of a South Seattle pawn shop this week has revealed evidence in a string of burglaries targeting area sports and music stars. Police say arrests include the “primary suspect” in the June home invasion burglary targeting the Capitol Hill mansion of hip hop star Macklemore.
According to SPD, the raid turned up “multiple items stolen from the owner’s home and from other local homes that have recently been burglarized.”
“Amongst the items found in the jewelry store were items from other high-profile celebrities,” SPD reports.
CHS reported here on the June heist as burglars pepper sprayed and held down the house’s 22-year-old nanny and ransacked the house as the rap performer’s children hid inside. Items stolen included “one very distinguishable Seattle Sounders ring with the owner’s name on it,” police said.
Police also arrested another suspect in a string of Eastside home invasion robberies targeting sports celebrities this summer beginning the string of investigations that led them to the South Seattle shop and the latest bust.
The suspect in the Macklemore case remains held in jail awaiting charges.
