A video allegedly showing Panthers star cornerback Jaycee Horn’s car crash while commuting to training camp Wednesday has emerged.
The popular Instagram account, @charlottedashcam, released a clip in which Horn’s purported vehicle — described by TMZ as a black Mercedes-Maybach SUV — hits a truck in the middle of an intersection.
It’s hard to tell who’s at fault, with the pickup truck seemingly making a turn at the time of the accident.
The cars going perpendicular to Horn’s alleged vehicle had their light turn green moments after the collision, which the Instagram account said involved a third vehicle.
“1. Two people try to beat the light, and cause a nice three-car crunch up. Poor 4Runner was just waiting its turn,” the caption to the clip said.
Horn, 25, indicated he avoided a serious injury.
“I’m straight !” Horn posted on his X account. “Nun major thank god🙏🏾🙏🏾.”
The former first-round pick did not practice Wednesday following the collision, the Panthers announced through an article on their team website, and their medical team examined him.
The team said Horn was the only person in his vehicle at the time, and no one involved in the incident had to be moved via emergency medical personnel.
The car crash happened near the Panthers’ Bank of America Stadium.
Horn is gearing up for his fifth season after being selected by the Panthers with the eighth pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
He’s coming off his first Pro Bowl season in 2024, in which he knocked down 13 passes in 15 games and tallied one interception.
Horn has notched five interceptions in 37 career games, with injuries limiting the former South Carolina star to three games in 2021 and six games in 2023.
Despite the injury issues, the Panthers rewarded Horn with a four-year, $100 million contract in March that at the time made him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history in terms of average annual value.
The Texans’ Derek Stingley and the Jets’ Sauce Gardner have since surpassed him.
