    • Pedestrian hit on E Olive Way: A pedestrian crossing E Olive Way was struck by a driver and sent to the hospital and the driver was taken into custody by police in an overnight collision early Saturday morning. Seattle Fire and Seattle Police responded to E Olive Way in front of Hula Hula around 12:10 AM for the reported “significant impact” crash. SFD reports the 31-year-old man was taken to Harborview in stable condition. Witnesses reports say the driver was evaluated for drug or alcohol use and taken into custody by police.
    • Broadway/Fir shooting: Police found blood at the scene but no victims were located in a Wednesday night drive-by shooting outside an apartment building near Broadway and Fir. Police were called to the area around 6:45 PM to the reported shooting and found bullet fragments and shell casings in the street as well as “blood droplets and smears that led to many areas within the apartment complex.” A search turned up no victims:
Building management assisted with surveillance footage that led to a possible suspect located in one of the apartments. Police conducted a search of the apartment, detained a subject, and recovered a modified handgun resembling a rifle possibly involved in another incident from last week. Officers processed the scene for evidence, following different leads, and completing welfare checks to ensure no one at the location was injured.
Police said It appears the drive-by shooting involved a white sedan and a group of juveniles that were standing near the apartment building. Suspects from the white sedan fired towards the group before fleeing from the location, police say. SPD did not specify which apartment building was involved in the shooting.
    • Bertha Pitts Campbell Place arson: Seattle Police say a Friday morning 12th and Spruce building fire was reportedly an arson caused by a resident who set fire to his room. Police and Seattle Fire were called to the Plymouth Housing building just after 9 AM to the reported blaze. Police say a 911 caller had reported a neighboring resident had set fire to his unit and was last seen running northbound on 12th Ave. “SFD responded and successfully extinguished the shopping cart and partial mattress that were in flames,” SPD reports. “The damage was significant, mostly from the sprinklers that went off on floors 2 and 3.” There were no reported injuries. Police were searching for the suspect. The seven-story Bertha Pitts Campbell Place opened in 2022 as a supportive housing facility for adults who have previously experienced homelessness.
    • Evans House fire: A fire in DESC’s Evans House at 10th and Jefferson damaged a 6th floor unit but caused no injuries and limited damage last Sunday night. Seattle Fire responded to the building fire around 7:17 PM. Investigators were unable to determine a cause.
    • AMPM bandit: Police arrested the suspect in a strong-arm robbery at the 23rd Ave E and E Cherry AMPM Wednesday morning. Police were called to the service station just before 8:30 AM:
The suspect had stolen various consumables and physically fought with staff to maintain possession of said items. The suspect left the gas station on foot and was located in the area by Ofcs a short time later. Ofcs contacted the suspect. The suspect struggled, wrapping his arms around an Ofc in an apparent attempt to take that Ofc to the ground.
Police say officers were able to gain control of the suspect and take him into custody. He was booked into jail for investigation of assault and robbery.
    • Goodwill thief: Monday brought a strong-arm robbery investigation at the Capitol Hill Goodwill. Police say they were called to the store around 2:15 PM where security reported that the suspect concealed items in his backpack and attempted to leave the store without paying for them. When store security confronted the suspect, they say the suspect brandished a knife and demanded that they open the door. Police searched the area for the suspect but no arrests were reported.
